Rev. Denson Alford Sr.

Senior Pastor

Rev. Denson Alford, Sr, was born in Jacksonville, FL, and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. He grew up in a faith-oriented family who guided him to seek a life of righteousness, integrity, and self-discipline. He accepted Christ at an early age and is a humble, and gifted servant of God whose ultimate desire is to do the will of God.

Rev. Denson Alford has been ministering for over 30 years in the gospel field for Jesus Christ. Rev. Alford was licensed in 1985 and ordained in 1987 under the leadership of the late C.C. Reeves.

​

Today, Greater Stanton Grove Missionary Baptist Church continues to serve under the dynamic

leadership of Rev. Alford. Under Rev. Alfords’ tenure, the Lord has “moved mightily” in souls and structures.

​

Rev. Alford's desire as a church; is to be within the community proclaiming the Word of Christ and providing good deeds whenever possible to the community. He enjoys preaching and teaching the Word of God with power, conviction, and simplicity at every opportunity that avails without compromise.

​

Rev. Alford has been married to his wonderful wife, Sis Janice Alford, for 38 years; together they have two adult children and three grandchildren. Rev. Alford has long considered his family to be his most important ministry.

​

For God told the Prophet Jeremiah; "Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.” (Jeremiah 1:5; KJV).

Janice B. Alford

First Lady

First Lady Janice Alford is a native of Monroe County, born to the late Rev. C.C. Reeves and Ethel Reeves.  Rev. C.C. and Ethel Reeves relocated their family to Decatur, GA.  First Lady is a graduate of Columbia High School in Decatur, GA.  She is a God-fearing, passionate, uplifting, and encouraging woman who believes in the power of prayer.  She is supportive of her husband and the ministry. 

Her favorite scripture is Psalms 23:1 "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want."
